POSITION:
Taviano is a town located in the south-west of Salento, just outside the popular destination of Gallipoli. The earliest evidence of human inhabitants dates all the way back to the Neolithic era. There are several historical churches, a palace, and Castelforte which is an unusual landmark located on the outskirts of the town, and was originally a facility for single mothers and their children.
The nearest beach is less than a 5 minute drive away. The natural reserve of Punta Pizzo, with its Caribbean-like shore, is also just a few minutes away by car. Mancaversa is Taviano's seaside community that is where many locals spend their summer holiday. Taviano is also known among locals for its excellent restaurants that serve traditional and local cuisine.
Specchia has several churches, palazzi or palaces, and a castle. In about 20 minutes by car you can reach both the Ionian and Adriatic coasts from Specchia.
Here is a villa in Salento, created during the restoration of an ancient farmhouse, located a few kilometers from the sea near Gallipoli.

We stayed at Villa Ametista for a week at the end of September. Beautiful villa with great pool and lovely garden. Nadia was very helpful. We would have preferred to have a kettle and toaster available but it wasn't a big problem.

The hostess was very accommodating and always helpful. We were there in May with four children. It exceeded our expectations of being in a quiet, authentic place. The house has been beautifully renovated with a lot of love. If you're looking for something to spend time with your family or for yourself, then I can highly recommend it.
Die Gastgeberin war sehr zuvorkommend und herzlich auch immer hilfsbereit. Wir waren im Mai Monat mit vier Kinder dort. Unsere Erwartungen an einem ruhigen, authentischen Ort sein zu dürfen, hat es übertroffen. Das Haus ist sehr schön renoviert worden mit viel Liebe. Wenn man etwas sucht, um Zeit für die Familie zu haben oder für sich, dann kann ich es nur wärmstens empfehlen.

The most pleasant surprise were the owners of the house, very kind and always ready to help and give advice. Very attentive management of the house with the swimming pool cleaned every morning before we woke up. Highly recommended house!

We spent an amazing 2 weeks with 8 people (4 adults and 4 children) in this wonderful villa. Outside Taviano the house is very quiet and is ideal as a starting point for excursions in all directions. We couldn't believe it, but everything looks exactly like in the photos! The old farmhouse has been renovated with great attention to detail and is a dream! The communication with both the agent Buena Onda and the owner Nadia was excellent. Every day Alessandro came early in the morning to clean the pool and whatever else arrived! Thank you so much for this!! In the second week there were some problems with the electricity. Both Nadia and Alissandro were always available and the problem was solved in a few hours! In short, an all-round successful holiday. We can only recommend Villa Ametista and thank Nadia and her husband, as well as Alissandro for the excellent hospitality!
Abbiamo trascorso 2 settimane fantastiche con 8 persone (4 adulti e 4 bambini) in questa meravigliosa villa. Fuori Taviano la casa è molto tranquilla ed è ideale come punto di partenza per escursioni in tutte le direzioni. Non potevamo crederci, ma tutto sembra esattamente come nelle foto! L'antico casale è stato ristrutturato con grande attenzione ai dettagli ed è un sogno! La comunicazione sia con l'agente Buena Onda che con la proprietaria Nadia è stata ottima. Ogni giorno Alissandro veniva la mattina presto per pulire la piscina e quant'altro arrivava! Grazie mille per questo!! Nella seconda settimana ci sono stati alcuni problemi con l'elettricità . Sia Nadia che Alissandro sono stati sempre disponibili e il problema è stato risolto in poche ore! Insomma, una vacanza di successo a tutto tondo. Non possiamo che consigliare Villa Ametista e ringraziare Nadia e suo marito, oltre ad Alissandro per l'ottima ospitalità !

warm personal welcome. Got lots of recommendations from hosts to visit places. The house/villa is very clean, has everything you need. The complex is very impressive in terms of architecture and design, quiet, in a good location and perfect for relaxation and perfect holidays.

The villa and property are dreamlike and even more beautiful than the photos! The privacy is unique and the owner Nadia was always available and answered our questions immediately. The house was furnished with great love and taste, has everything you need and was perfectly clean. We really enjoyed our stay and will not hesitate to return... Highly recommended! Taviano with all the shops can be reached in 5 minutes by car and the most beautiful beaches of Salento are between 10 and 30 minutes away by car. An own vehicle is therefore definitely necessary. Thank you so much for allowing us to use this wonderful villa!
La villa e la proprietà sono da sogno e ancora più belle delle foto! La privacy è unica e la proprietaria Nadia è stata sempre disponibile e ha risposto immediatamente alle nostre domande. La casa è stata arredata con grande amore e gusto, ha tutto il necessario ed è stata perfettamente pulita. Abbiamo apprezzato molto il nostro soggiorno e non esiteremo a tornarci... Consigliatissimo! Taviano con tutti i negozi è raggiungibile in 5 minuti di auto e le spiagge più belle del Salento distano tra le 10 e i 30 minuti di auto. È quindi sicuramente necessario un veicolo proprio. Grazie mille per averci permesso di utilizzare questa meravigliosa villa!

Nadia is a superhost. The reception and checkout were very well organized. When there were two technical problems, Nadia responded within minutes and solved the problem within a very short time. Buena Onda is a bit remote, but very quiet and a good starting point for excursions.
